Combining 3D Imaging and Light Sheet Guided 2D Spatial Multiplexing for Deep Characterization of a Glioblastoma Mouse Model
Speaker: Kyle Kern, PhD, Kevin Bigott
Location: Focused Product Theater – Aisle 1100
Session Number: PROT16
Spatial biology studies organization of cells and molecules in tissues to decipher complex biological processes. While 2D immunofluorescence is limited to selected areas, 3D light sheet microscopy enables intact-organ analysis but with few markers. We developed a workflow combining 3D and 2D imaging: 3D analysis identifies tumor regions and cells at single-cell level, followed by sectioning target structures for 2D phenotyping of glioblastoma, neural, and immune markers on the same specimen.

Measuring Low-Abundant Neuroscience Biomarkers: Closing the Sensitivity Gap with Custom SMC® Assays
Speaker: Alok PandeyLocation: Grand Product Theater – Aisle 1400
Session Number: PROT04
Neuroscience biomarkers such as neurofilaments, tau species, and cytokines are often present in blood and CSF at concentrations too low for conventional immunoassays, leaving many samples below the quantifiable range and limiting what a study can conclude. This talk describes how a single molecule counting technology closes the sensitivity gap, and how a bioanalytical CRO develops fit-for-purpose custom SMC® assays so low-abundant analytes can be measured reliably in relevant matrices.
