This panel will provide practical education on New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) and their role in advancing ethical and innovative research reflecting the growing interest in NAMs across the biomedical research community. Speakers will discuss current NAMs techniques, how they can complement animal model use, and best practices for integrating NAMs into ongoing research programs. The session will also include guidance on effectively incorporating NAMs into grant proposals to strengthen scientific rigor and funding competitiveness while recognizing that animal models remain critical for addressing many complex questions in neuroscience.
