SfN works with coalition partners to advocate for issues relating to neuroscience research. Below is a list of recent letters written by SfN's coalition partners that SfN has signed on to in order to voice support or concern on issues relating to biomedical research and the field of neuroscience.

- Letter to Congress expressing concern regarding Dr. Walter Koroshetz, Director of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) at NIH, not being renewed for another five-year term.
January 21, 2026 | States United for Biomedical Research
- Letter to Oregon Health and Science University's Board of Directors encouraging the Board to reaffirm the Oregon National Primate Research Center's importance as a national scientific asset, and to pursue a forward-looking path that strengthens scientific integrity, animal welfare, and transparency.
January 20, 2026 | NIH Advocacy Community
- Letter to Congressional Leadership urging a quick passage of remaining FY26 funding and at least $48.7 billion in funding for NIH.
