Addressing Implicit Gender Bias in Neuroscience
The number of women in the field of neuroscience has grown significantly in the past two decades, and women greatly contribute to advancement in the field. Each year, SfN pays tribute to the scientific excellence of women neuroscientists at the annual Celebration of Women in Neuroscience event.
Yet challenges still remain for women in the sciences, including neuroscience. Progress in this area is still slowed by personal, institutional, and cultural gender biases, many of which are unconscious. SfN provides resources to help address challenges women may confront in academic and other professional settings, and to educate and overcome gender bias. Learn more about implicit gender bias, and take a test to see if you have any hidden biases.
