Ronald Duman, PhD
It is with tremendous sadness that we reflect upon the recent, unexpected death of Ronald Stanton Duman, PhD, beloved husband, father, brother, colleague, and friend. Every person who ever met Ron—from members of his laboratory and faculty to countless colleagues around the country who reached out in sympathy to our own children—viewed Ron as a uniquely kind, honest, generous, and thoughtful man. At the time of his death, Ron was the Elizabeth Mears and House Jameson Professor of Psychiatry and Professor of Neuroscience at the Yale University School of Medicine and Director of the Abraham Ribicoff Research Facilities of the Connecticut Mental Health Center (CMHC). He was a member of the U.S. National Academy of Medicine and recipient of two of the most prestigious prizes for mood disorder research, the Nola Maddox Falcone Prize of the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation and the Anna-Monika Foundation Prize. Ron served on the Council of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology from 2012 to 2014.
