How do I register for SfN Global Connectome: A Virtual Event?

Do I have to be a member to attend?
No, but the registration fees are reduced for members.
How can I become an SfN member and receive discounted registration rates and other member benefits?
To register as a member (dependent on acceptance), you must apply for SfN membership PRIOR to registering for SfN Global Connectome: A Virtual Event in order to receive member rates. If you choose to register under another category before membership acceptance, the difference will not be refunded to you. No exceptions.
What does my registration fee include?
Your registration fee includes the ability to submit an abstract as well as access to all SfN-sponsored sessions, lectures, abstract presentations, socials, and exhibits.
Is there a Group registration option?
A group registration option is available for groups of five or more registrants which offers a 10% discount on the registration fees. The group registration process will not work for fewer than five registrations. Please note that registration is not complete until SfN receives payment. Access to the abstract submission process will not be available until payment has been made.
A group contact is required to enter the registration information. Group contacts must register themselves if they wish to attend SfN Global Connectome: A Virtual Event.
Before beginning the group registration process, please confirm SfN Membership status and the email address associated with the SfN membership for each person you wish to register. An active 2020 or 2021 membership as well as a completed registration is required to access the abstract submission process.
I want to submit an abstract, what should I do?
Review the Call for Abstracts page on the SfN Global Connectome web site to familiarize yourself with the submission process. Once you are prepared to submit, complete your registration to receive access to the abstract submission site, prior to the close of abstracts on November 13.
Do I have to register and pay the registration fee to submit an abstract?
Yes. Only members of the Society for Neuroscience will be allowed to submit an abstract. Abstract submission is complimentary with completed registration for the SfN Global Connectome, but abstract submissions close on November 13.
When is the abstracts deadline?
The deadline to submit an abstract is Friday, November 13, 5 p.m. Eastern Time. There are no extensions or exceptions. Visit the Call for Abstracts page on the SfN Global Connectome web site for more information.
I recently registered and/or submitted my abstract. How do I obtain receipt for payment?
Visit the Registration Resource Center to access the abstract submission site to print your registration receipt.
Can someone else register another person?
Yes, as long as they can provide all of the necessary information and payment.
Can I pay by credit card?
Yes, you may pay for the registration fees by credit card. The credit cards accepted are MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express.
Can someone else from my organization or company pay for my registration?
The Registration on Hold option is available for online credit card payments only. Individuals who require their organization/company to pay for their registration may select this option. You may start the registration process and select the “Registration on Hold” option. This will allow you to place your registration on hold until SfN receives payment. An email will be sent to you and the payer with a link allowing the payer to pay for the registration.
Note: Your registration is not complete until SfN receives payment, and access to the abstract submission process will not be permitted until payment has been made.
May I substitute someone in my place if I have registered but am unable to attend?
Due to the virtual nature of the event and the on-demand access that will be available to registrants, there will be no substitutions for registrations. All session content will be available for three months after the event, and digital abstracts for one month.
What is the cancellation/refund policy?
Due to the virtual nature of the event and the on-demand access that will be available to registrants, there will be no cancellation or substitutions for registrations. All session content will be available for three months after the event, and digital abstracts for one month.
Note: If you are scheduled to present an abstract at SfN Global Connectome, please note that cancelling your registration does NOT cancel your abstract presentation. To notify SfN that you will not be presenting your abstract, submit a request to change the status of your abstract presentation by emailing program@sfn.org.
