The Society for Neuroscience (SfN) will honor seven early career researchers whose work will be presented during Neuroscience 2025, SfN's annual meeting.

The Society for Neuroscience (SfN) will present eight individuals and groups with this year’s Science Education and Outreach Awards, comprised of the Award for Education in Neuroscience, the Science Educator Award, the Next Generation Awards, and the Chapter of the Year Awards. The awards will be presented during SfN’s annual meeting.

The Society for Neuroscience (SfN) will honor five leading researchers whose impactful work has transformed neuroscience — including the understanding of memory, synapse formation, social reinforcement in addiction, and how neurons make sense of input noise — with this year’s Outstanding Career and Research Achievement Awards. The awards will be presented during SfN’s annual meeting.

WASHINGTON — Edward F. Chang, MD, of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), will be awarded the 2025 Gruber neuroscience Prize. The award celebrates his work toward understanding how the brain encodes the sounds and movements of spoken language.

Michelle Monje, professor of pediatric neuro-oncology at Stanford University and Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator, and Frank Winkler, professor of neuro-oncology at Heidelberg University, were awarded the Brain Prize 2025 for pioneering the field of cancer neuroscience.

SfN Past-President Huda Akil, PhD, Gardner C. Quarton Distinguished University Professor of Neurosciences, Department of Psychiatry, and research professor, Michigan Neuroscience Institute at the University of Michigan, has been awarded the 2023 Gruber Neuroscience Prize.

Thanks to the generosity of donors to the Friends of SfN Fund, foundation and corporate supporters, and SfN Council, the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) is supporting a record 272 neuroscience trainees to attend Neuroscience 2022 through the Trainee Professional Development Award (TPDA) program.

SfN member Robert C. Malenka, MD, PhD, Pritzker Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioural Sciences, Stanford University has been awarded the 2022 Peter Seeburg Integrative Neuroscience Prize for his ground-breaking research in identifying the mechanically distinct forms of synaptic plasticity present in the human brain.
