Increasing Women in Neuroscience Toolkit is Now Available
This members-only resource is a 30-minute presentation meant to be shared with students, faculty, and others involved in academia. It incorporates data, real-life success stories, and ready-to-implement tools that provide an overview of the gender retention issues present within neuroscience. It also outlines effective recruitment and evaluation strategies that departments can use to increase diversity among their faculty.
Finally, the presentation includes a populated notes section with the relevant background information to explain each slide. Members can simply download the file, review the notes, and present to an audience with little advanced preparation.
The “Increasing Women in Neuroscience: Candidate Recruitment and Evaluation” presentation was adapted from the live workshops and online modules made possible by the grant funded Department Chair Training to Increase Women in Neuroscience (IWiN) program. Additional resources on increasing women in neuroscience are available at SfN.org.
