Ralph W. Gerard Prize in Neuroscience

Background
The Ralph W. Gerard Prize in Neuroscience honors outstanding contributions to neuroscience. The prize holds great prestige in the field of neuroscience and allows colleagues to recognize peer research. The prize is named after Ralph W. Gerard, who was instrumental in founding the Society for Neuroscience and served as Honorary President from 1970 until his death in 1974. The prize, which includes up to $25,000, is presented each year at the Society's annual meeting.
Nomination Criteria
- Nomination must be made or endorsed by an SfN member.
- Nominee does not need to be an SfN member.
- Self-nomination is not permitted.
- No person may nominate more than one candidate.
Nomination Materials
This year marks the first-ever call for nominations for the Gerard Prize. Please upload the following nomination materials to the SfN awards submission site (note: all materials must be submitted by the nominator):
- One required nomination letter describing the nominee’s contributions to the field of neuroscience
- A maximum of two optional letters of recommendation
- Current CV
