SfN Reschedules Neuroscience 2020 Abstract Submission
As SfN has continued to monitor the COVID-19 situation worldwide and the effect it is having on SfN’s membership, as well as the serious risk the novel virus poses to the global population, it has become clear that adjustments are required to Neuroscience 2020 deadlines in order to ensure the most robust scientific programming for this year’s annual meeting in October. First and foremost, we know that everyone is affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and our hearts go out to all who are treating patients, suffering personally, and helping family members, friends, and colleagues.
In light of the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic and the impact on global health, as well as disruption to daily life and business across the world, we are delaying the Neuroscience 2020 abstract submission window. The previously scheduled submission window of April 9-30, 2020 is now July 6-16, 2020.
While this adjustment reduces the abstract submission window length, it allows Neuroscience 2020 abstract submitters additional time for preparation and planning in the face of major disruptions, closings, and delays due to COVID-19.
As a result of the change to the abstract submission window, Neuroscience 2020 meeting registration will open for all eligible Bonus Day registrants on August 4 and for all SfN members on August 5.
This is the first of several announcements we will make in the coming months as we work with SfN members, volunteer leadership, and staff to maximize the opportunity to contribute to the scientific program of this year’s annual meeting in October.
We continue to work toward holding SfN’s 50th annual meeting from October 24-28, 2020 in Washington, D.C. However, we know that this pandemic has not peaked in many parts of the world and, of course, world events are in constant review by SfN’s leadership and its staff. Further updates to the schedule and our plans will be available on SfN.org, through SfN social media, and via email, where applicable.
SfN would like to thank all Neuroscience 2020 scientific presenters and meeting attendees for their flexibility and understanding with these schedule changes. Most of all, we hope that you and your families stay safe in these challenging times. It remains our intention that SfN’s mission to advance the field will continue to be strengthened and the scientific programming of Neuroscience 2020 maximized to benefit the field of neuroscience and the public at large.
