Oxford University has opened its doors to the BBC to allow them to film animals in its research facility. The university wants to publicize its research but is cautious of visitors, given its history with animal rights extremists. For four years, the university was a target of intimidation. An effort toward its commitment to openness on animal research, the University allowed BBC to capture footage of mice, ferrets and macaques, including some behavioral experiments on the monkeys.
