H. Kevin Happe
H. Kevin Happe, age 61, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017, in Omaha, Nebraska, following a battle with multiple myeloma. He had a successful career, particularly in developmental and behavioral neuroscience. He was awarded tenure in Psychiatry and Pharmacology at Creighton University as a neuroscience researcher and associate professor. He was a loving and devoted father to his three sons, Nathan of Bozeman, Montana, Robert and Leo both of Omaha; and "Grandpa Kevin" to his grandson, Keegan Happe of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Kevin earned his Ph.D. in Pharmacology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Kevin was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Evelyn Campbell Happe and Edward E. Happe, Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Karin Strong-Boag. Kevin is survived by his siblings, Krista Hartline, Edward Happe III (Dang), Kimberly Fritz, and Robert Happe all of Pittsburgh, Michael Happe (Kereen) of Denver, and Lou Ann McStay, former wife and mother of his children. Kevin is fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and cousins. All are welcome to celebrate his life at the Memorial Service on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Lauritzen Gardens, 100 Bancroft St., Omaha, NE 68108. Visitation at 5:30 p.m. and Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Nebraska Humane Society.
