2019 Celebration of Women in Neuroscience Luncheon
The 2019 Celebration of Women in Neuroscience Luncheon took place on Tuesday, October 22, from noon – 2 p.m. CDT in Chicago, IL, during Neuroscience 2019.
The luncheon featured a panel discussion with accomplished neuroscientists and SfN Past Presidents Huda Akil, Carla Shatz, and Carol Mason. Kay Tye moderated the discussion. During the discussion, the panelists shared personal stories from their careers. The panelists also recognized SfN’s 50th Anniversary by highlighting the advancements women have made in the field and discussing what still needs to be done to increase gender equality in neuroscience.

Past Celebration of Women in Neuroscience Luncheons
The 2018 Celebration of Women in Neuroscience Luncheon took place on Tuesday, November 6th from noon-2 p.m. at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel during Neuroscience 2018. Courtney Miller, PhD, moderated a panel on the topic of effective self-promotion during career transitions. The panel featured Yasmin Hurd, PhD, Susan Magsamen, MAS, and Emilie Marcus, PhD.
