Robert Galambos – Auditory system pioneer, whose work included deciphering the codes by which nerves transmit sounds to the brain and how bats navigate in total darkness.

Leif Finkel - Professor of Bioengineering at Penn.

James A. Joseph - Director of the Neuroscience Laboratory at the USDA-ARS Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging (HNRCA) at Tufts University.

Philip Siekevitz - an original member of the ASCB and the Society’s sixth president; contributed significant advances to the field of modern cell biology.

Jerry J Buccafusco - Beloved husband, father, and an internationally renowned researcher.

Robert L. Thompson - Founding member of the Society for Neuroscience, Professor Emeritus of psychology at Hunter College and long time leader of the Red Onion Jazz Band.
- Erminio Costa - An expert in the field of neuropsychopharmacology; fondly remembered by his family, former students, collaborators and peers.
- Carrie E. John - A brilliant and talented young scientist and a friend to many.
- Elizabeth A. Young - Internationally renowned biological psychiatrist, Professor of Psychiatry, and Senior Research Professor at the Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience Institute (MBNI) at the University of Michigan.
- Dennis M. Higgins - Internationally known developmental neurobiologist, respected colleague and cherished mentor at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo.
- John R. Brobeck - Former chairman of the physiology department at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine; An expert on the body's regulation of food intake who demonstrated early in his career that the hypothalamus regulates body heat and controls food intake.
- Leon Cintra - Researched the study of the impact of protein malnutrition on the development of the central nervous system; A founding member of the UNAM Center for Neurobiology; President of SfN's Mexico City chapter.
