  • Robert L. Thompson - Founding member of the Society for Neuroscience, Professor Emeritus of psychology at Hunter College and long time leader of the Red Onion Jazz Band.

  • Erminio Costa - An expert in the field of neuropsychopharmacology; fondly remembered by his family, former students, collaborators and peers.

  • Carrie E. John - A brilliant and talented young scientist and a friend to many.

  • Elizabeth A. Young - Internationally renowned biological psychiatrist, Professor of Psychiatry, and Senior Research Professor at the Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience Institute (MBNI) at the University of Michigan.

  • Dennis M. Higgins - Internationally known developmental neurobiologist, respected colleague and cherished mentor at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo.

  •  John R. Brobeck - Former chairman of the physiology department at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine; An expert on the body's regulation of food intake who demonstrated early in his career that the hypothalamus regulates body heat and controls food intake.

  • Leon Cintra - Researched the study of the impact of protein malnutrition on the development of the central nervous system; A founding member of the UNAM Center for Neurobiology; President of SfN's Mexico City chapter.

  • Bradford N. Bunnell - Made numerous contributions to the field of pysiological psychology - researched limbic system regulation of social behavior and endocrine responses; Long-time professor at University of Georgia.

  • Charles A. Barraclough - Physiologist and internationally renowned neuroendocrinologist; Made seminal scientific observations involving studies on the brain and how neonatal male testosterone exposure permanently alters brain control of reproductive processes in males and females.

  • George Karpati - Made highly influential and original contributions to research in neuromuscular disease; Had a long career at the Montreal Neurological Institute.

  • Glenn I. Hatton - Showed that brain structure is dynamic, with changes in the shapes and spatial relationships between different types of brain cells; Explored interaction between neurons and glial cells.
