The Journal of Neuroscience is owned and published by the Society for Neuroscience. Its mission is to publish excellent, rigorously reviewed research in behavioral, systems and cognitive neuroscience; cellular and molecular neuroscience; development, plasticity, and repair neuroscience; and the neurobiology of disease. The Journal's editorial review is managed by a board of working scientists.. The Journal of Neuroscience is published weekly, 50 times a year.
Members of the Society for Neuroscience receive a free subscription to The Journal of Neuroscience online and a discount rate on subscription to the print version.
To receive the discount rate, please subscribe to the print journal with your online membership renewal, or contact the membership department at membership@sfn.org. Institutional subscriptions are available from Journal Web site.
Neuroscience Peer Review Consortium
The Journal of Neuroscience has partnered with nine other neuroscience journals to form the Neuroscience Peer Review Consortium (NPRC), an alliance with the goal of supporting efficient and thorough peer review, speeding research publication, and reducing the burden on peer reviewers. Open Choice Offers Fee Option for Manuscript Authors
The Journal of Neuroscience has expanded public access and now provides authors with the option of paying an additional fee to make published papers immediately available online. Authors who want to take advantage of this Open Choice option, must pay a fee in addition to the usual publication charges.
