Young Investigator Award

Background
The Young Investigator Award recognizes outstanding achievements by a young neuroscientist who has recently received his or her advanced professional degree. The award, which includes $15,000, is presented each year at the Society's annual meeting.
Eligibility
- Nominees must be active in research at the time the award is given.
- Nominees must have received a PhD or MD (or equivalent) within the past 10 years.
Nomination Criteria
- Nominations must be made or endorsed by an SfN member.
- Nominee does not have to be an SfN member.
- Self nomination is not permitted.
- No person may nominate more than one candidate.
Nomination Materials
Please upload the following nomination materials to the new SfN awards submission site (note: all materials must be submitted by the nominator):
- One nomination letter

A maximum of two optional letters of recommendation
- One letter must be from the nominee's current or previous mentor
- Current CV
- The date on which the advanced degree must be provided
- A list of up to five of the nominee's most important published papers
