About the Society for Neuroscience
The Society for Neuroscience (SfN) is a nonprofit membership organization of scientists and physicians who study the brain and nervous system. Since its inception in 1969, the Society has grown from 500 members to over 40,000. Today, SfN is the world's largest organization of scientists and physicians devoted to advancing understanding of the brain and nervous system.
The Society at Work
SfN creates venues for sharing great science in an expanding field.
- Holds the SfN annual meeting each fall, attracting more than 30,000 attendees from around the globe and creating the world's largest forum for emerging research on brain science and health
- Publishes The Journal of Neuroscience, the largest weekly scholarly journal dedicated to neuroscience discovery
SfN supports the neuroscience community, connecting people around the globe and across specialties.
SfN educates the public about the wonders of the brain, and advocates for policies that promote research.
