The 2015 call for committee, officer, and councilor nominations is now open. All SfN members are welcome to nominate yourself or fellow colleagues who are current Regular members, including emeritus and postdoctoral status, for committee, officer, and councilor positions.
Nominations will be accepted until noon EST on Friday, March 6, 2015.
Call for Committee Nominations
Committee nominations can be submitted on the Nominations for SfN Committee Replacements page, using your SfN membership login. Along with name and recommended committee, the online submission form will request a 100-word maximum narrative of why the nominee should be considered. The Committee on Committees (CoC) matches interested and qualified members with the committee most appropriate for their talents.
Call for Officer and Councilor Nominations
Officer and councilor nominations can be submitted on the Call for Officer and Councilor Nominations page, using your SfN membership login. Your contribution to the selection of candidates for councilor and officer positions is essential to ensuring that the Society elects volunteer leaders who best represent the interests and needs of the membership. The positions that are up for election in 2015 include President-Elect, Treasurer-Elect, and two Councilors.
In 2014, Council took action to expand eligibility for officer positions to all members of the Society in good standing, including members domiciled internationally. If you have any questions about serving in this capacity as an international member, please feel free to contact staff at email@example.com .
Your nomination will be submitted to the Nominating Committee for their review and consideration during its spring meeting. The committee will then select a slate of candidates for each available position. Selected candidates will be invited to run for their respective office in the 2015 SfN Election. The winners of the election will officially assume office at Neuroscience 2015.
Please bear in mind that while all nominations are considered, not all will be selected for the SfN Election. However, the Society encourages all those interested in serving in a leadership position to consider submitting a nomination again next year.
Elections are held annually to fill vacating terms. All Regular members, including Emeritus and Postdoctoral members, are encouraged to vote. Election details will be posted here when a vote is upcoming.
