SfN honors women with the Celebration of Women in Neuroscience event each year at the SfN annual meeting.
2019 Celebration of Women in Neuroscience Luncheon
The 2019 Celebration of Women in Neuroscience Luncheon will take place on Tuesday, October 22, from noon – 2 p.m. CDT in Chicago, IL, during Neuroscience 2019.
The luncheon will feature a panel discussion with accomplished neuroscientists and SfN Past Presidents Huda Akil, Carla Shatz, and Carol Mason. Kay Tye will moderate the discussion. During the discussion, the panelists will share personal stories from their careers. The panelists will also recognize SfN’s 50th Anniversary by highlighting the advancements women have made in the field and discussing what still needs to be done to increase gender equality in neuroscience.

Past Celebration of Women in Neuroscience Luncheons
The 2018 Celebration of Women in Neuroscience Luncheon took place on Tuesday, November 6th from noon-2 p.m. at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel during Neuroscience 2018. Courtney Miller, PhD, moderated a panel on the topic of effective self-promotion during career transitions. The panel featured Yasmin Hurd, PhD, Susan Magsamen, MAS, and Emilie Marcus, PhD.
