University of Texas At San Antonio Department of Biology/Neurobiology

University Of Texas At San Antonio
San Antonio, TX

Graduate

Program Description

The Ph.D. in Biology with a concentration in Neurobiology offers students a foundation in the study of brain structure, function and behavior. First year coursework gives students a strong background in electrical and chemical signaling, brain circuits, experimental design, and data analysis before beginning their dissertation projects. The program includes a weekly lunch and lecture series with speakers from across the country, providing all students with an extended network in the scientific community. Our program is supported by a vibrant neuroscience community in San Antonio, including the UTSA Neurosciences Institute, which hosts annual symposia, and podcasts from world-renowned neuroscientists.
