CommitteesThe Society for Neuroscience relies heavily on the services and talents of its many volunteer committee members to develop new projects and oversee current ones, to provide their considerable expertise in areas of concern to Society members, and to aid Council and the sfn headquarters staff in effectively representing the varied needs of Society members. The current membership and committee charter can be viewed by clicking on each individual committee below. Terms for committee members (shown in parentheses) run from annual meeting to annual meeting. Committee Charters and Compositions
Committee NominationsNominations for committee replacements are now closed. The nominations page will re-open during Neuroscience 2009. Committee members who were selected for terms beginning at Neuroscience 2008 will be contacted in late spring/early summer. Committee ClustersSome committees have been grouped into clusters in an effort to increase their communication and coordination of activities. A steering group consisting of committee chairs within each cluster coordinates the activities of their cluster as a whole. Each cluster will be guided by a charter, provided by Council (under development). The clusters are as follows: Financial Management Cluster
Information Cluster
Membership Development and Benefits Cluster
Professional Development, Mentoring, and Diversity Cluster
Public Outreach Cluster
