Certificates of attendance are proof to home institutions that attendees were present at the meeting, and are often required for reimbursement of expenses. Certificates must be obtained on-site, and can be found at designated counters in the attendee services area of the convention center.

Neuroscience 2011 includes public sessions at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center highlighting the intersection of science and society. Registration is required and can be completed at the Attendee Services counter in the registration area. Registration is complimentary and available onsite only; a valid ID is required.
