Join Mark Morris - founder of the Mark Morris Dance Group and world-acclaimed dancer and choreographer - for a panel discussion with leading neuroscientists about the interplay betweeen art and brain science when it comes to motion, ryhthm, and the perception of dance.

The panel also includes discussion with SfN President Eve Marder and neuroscientist Bevil Conway, followed by questions from the audience.

Discussion will address:

  • How meaning is encoded in time and space.
  • Relationship between internally and externally generated rhythms.
  • Importance of proprioception for dance.
  • How dancers learn movement sequences and achieve movement precision in time and space.
